Relationship testing is particularly useful in situations where the alleged parents are not available for direct comparison to their siblings. In such cases, it is possible to use other members of the family to determine if a biological relationship exists or not. These tests are slightly more complex in nature than a DNA Paternity Test, and the testing methodology will depend on who is available for testing.

DNA Testing for Siblings                Order Now

A sibling DNA test can be used when two alleged siblings want to verify whether they are biologically related or not. It can also be used to determine if they are half siblings (share only one common parent), full siblings (share both common parents) or whether they are not related at all. Of course the assumption is that one or both parents are not available for testing. The DNA sibling test can therefore be performed without the sample of the parents.

However, as in the case of all relationship testing, it is always recommended that a known parent  (normally the Mother) if available is included in the testing to strengthen the result of the test.
