Glossary term for Motherless DNA Test

Motherless DNA Test

In most Paternity DNA Tests the alleged father’s DNA sample and that of the child or children will suffice to accurately complete the test. When the mother is not included in a paternity DNA test, it is referred to as a motherless DNA test. The test results will provide a rate of inclusion of 99.99% and exclude the alleged father as the biological one by 100%.  In some cases, results may need to be strengthened by having the mother’s samples thereby, excluding her half of the DNA. This means that the other half left can be thoroughly compared with that of the child. Results will be equally conclusive with or without the mother and in fact, around 80% of Paternity DNA tests are carried out without the mother’s samples.
