X Chromosome Testing

The X Chromosome Test is often used to determine if females with different mothers share the same father. Each female has 23  X Chromosome pairs (XX). One of these X chromosomes is inherited from the mother and the other is was inherited from the father. The X test is offered at only 299$.

X Chromosome Test: When Can it be used?

  • In a case where two females think they have the same father but are certain they have different mothers;  this DNA test will confirm whether they share the same biological father.
  • Females sharing the same biological mother can still do an X Chromosome test. However, in this specific case we will need a sample of the mother's DNA to be able to do the testHaving the mother's sample can help us determine the X chromosome pattern that was inherited or passed on from the mother. We can then compare the second X pattern that would have been passed on from the father.
