Reasons to choose our non-invasive prenatal paternity test
Due to New York State Department of Health regulations, we cannot offer any DNA tests to New York residents. Click here if require more info about DNA testing in NY.
The most important aspect of our DNA test while pregnant is its non-invasiveness – you can have your mind at rest that you will suffer no complications and eliminate any risks of miscarriage or harm to your baby. In fact, the medical blood draw we require will in no way endanger the mother or the baby and can be carried out by any doctor or nurse. This means you by-pass the need for assistance by any OBGYN specialist; the cost of our test is also lower and collecting blood samples should not take longer than a few minutes.
How the test works
Due to the presence of fetal DNA in the expectant mother’s blood, we are able to extract the baby’s genetic markers from just a blood sample using highly advanced SNP microarray technology. The test can be carried out at 9 weeks from conception (this means you will be in your 11th week of pregnancy, starting from the first day of your last menstrual period). Forget invasive and risky fetal DNA sampling procedures like amniocentesis or CVS and opt for our 99.9% accurate non invasive prenatal paternity test. To calculate any dates related to your pregnancy, you may use our pregnancy calculator.
The only time we cannot conduct the test is if the Mother is expecting twins or if the alleged Fathers are close blood relatives.
To enable you to collect the necessary samples for our prenatal paternity test EasyDNA will send you a blood sampling kit. You will simply take this to a doctor or qualified nurse who will collect blood samples from the mother and mouth swab samples from the alleged father and send them back for testing. It’s that simple.
Cost and turnaround time for DNA testing in pregnancy
The cost of the test for testing of samples from the mother and alleged father is $1395. If you require some additional assistance on the payment, we will also accept a 50% deposit on order and the remaining balance payable on receipt of samples.
If the second alleged father is available, we will test his sample for a small additional charge.
Your results are ready in just 7-10 working days and will be sent to you by email or post.
What are the risks with amniocentesis and CVS?
With both amniocentesis and Chorionic Villus Sampling (invasive fetal DNA sampling methods), an OBGYN will need to enter the womb using either a needle through the abdomen or a catheter through the vagina. Amniocentesis and CVS carry a risk of miscarriage due to the stress caused to the unborn child. Furthermore, leakage of amniotic fluid and injury to the baby’s limbs are also known risks.
If you wish to wait for the birth of the baby to establish paternity, we offer fully accredited DNA paternity testing which can be done using oral swabs. The baby’s DNA can be sampled upon birth.
